ONG and OMG are, of course, the two most popular slang terms with opposite meanings. ONG is an acronym for "On God," which conveys sincerity or emphasis on the truth behind the statement. For example "I'm telling the truth; ONG" stresses their honesty. In contrast, OMG means "Oh My God!" and expresses shock, disappointment, or excitement. For example, "OMG, that's fantastic!" Both of these terms may be applied to communicate an extreme emotion, but ONG relates more to truthfulness, whereas OMG signals a reaction to an unexpected situation.
